The Arsenal Football Club reportedly has its eye on the Philips Sport Vereniging/ Philips Sports Union/ PSV Eindhoven’s Winger, Hirving Lozano. The Football Club is tracking the player as they are starting to prepare for life without star player and target for Manchester City, Alexis Sanchez.
Steve Rowley has Been Viewing Lozano
Simon Jones, from MailOnline, reported that the top scout for the Gunners, Steve Rowley, has already made a point of going to watch the Mexican international play, and apparently Lozano may well be available for as paltry an amount as £20 million!
Unfortunately, this is possibly the only money Arsenal will have to spend after the sale of Sanchez. It was recently reported, again by MailOnline, by Jones and Amitai Winehouse, that Manchester City are looking to sign the Chilean player at a reduced rate in January.
Lozano’s on a Prolific Scoring Run
Lozano moved over to PSV’s Eredivisie outfit in June this year, and has signed a six-year contract. He then went on a seemingly inexhaustible scoring run at his brand-new club, as told by OptaJohan in a tweet which stated that Lozano was only the third player in the last 100 years who managed to score at least six goals in the first six Eredivisie games for PSV!
Arsenal’s Hand will be Forced
As football punters who enjoy the online betting NZ has to offer, as well as those from various other countries around the world, watch with bated breath, things are getting more urgent. The exit of Sanchez will force Arsenal’s hand, since the Football Club will have no choice but to spend money finding a fitting replacement. They will need to recoup at least some of the £32 million that was spent luring Sanchez from Barcelona back in 2014, and so a winter sale might have to be reflected on.
Lozano has Hit the Ground Running
Lozano has gotten off to an incredible start in Europe, since moving from Pachuca, his boyhood club, this past summer. Scouted Football tweeted about his already abundant record in the Netherlands, stating that the 22-year old player for PSV had spent 530 minutes on the field, taken part in six starts, six goals, and two assists. The tweet ended with the statement that Lozano had been involved in a goal every 66.25 minutes.
Lozano Would be a Great Replacement
If Sanchez does end up leaving, there are few players besides Lozano that could offer the same level of production for Arsenal. It also seems increasingly likely that Sanchez will depart, either by means of a sale in January, or when his contract ends when this season is over.
In other parts of the world, Aaron Stokes, of the Daily Star, cited reports from a newspaper in Turkey that said that Arsenal have offered £14.4 million to sign Yusuf Yazici, midfielder for Trabzonspor. The 20-year old player has been at the receiving end of comparisons to Mesut Ozil, another star player from the Arsenal Football club who has a contract expiring at the end of the season and is likely to require replacement.
